Louvered Pivot doors

The site was a guest house on a terrace space (7th floor) in Hyderabad. The architects provided the renders which included 18 double pivot doors, 2 flush doors and one fixed glass panel. As the length of the desired opening was 45 feet, the entire assembly had to be constructed in sections for ease of transportation from Mysore to Hyderabad and installation on site.

The louvers were designed to be operable in order to aid with ventilation. On one side of the doors were louvers and the other side was a fixed glass panel, for when the air conditioner was being used. Multiple prototypes were made to test louvers and the rotation of the doors, with different types of hardware and locking systems.
