This chair was designed for Ansh of Studio Bavl, a good friend and fellow maker. Ansh approached me with the idea of creating a rocking chair as a gift for his mother. With an open brief, I had the freedom to experiment with silhouettes and forms for this classic household addition. Inspired by the fluid simplicity of a leaf vein, I aimed to design an elegant profile that would be straightforward to construct.

The three-pronged seat is connected to the armrests with half-lap joints, transferring weight smoothly from the seat to the curved rocker. The combination of cane weaving and the sleek, minimal components resulted in a chair that rocks gently and lightly.
